PRESENTEE DRESSES

Debutantes typically have several questions regarding dresses, and it is our desire that each debutante shines in singular fashion. Our Dress Coordinator, Mrs. Kym Lightholder will be available to answer all questions and to ensure that each debutante has a unique dress.

In the hope of increasing your fun and decreasing any frustration, here are some guidelines to keep in mind while dress shopping:

Your dress should be white and floor length with the understanding that there are many subtle shades of white, and they are all fine. Simple elegance is desired, “bling” is not encouraged and there should be no color other than white on the dress.  An understated, thin belt or small ornamental clasp is acceptable. Please keep in mind that a strong spotlight will shine on each girl —  wearing a slip (half slips work nicely) is strongly encouraged to prevent see-through.

Please refrain from extremely low-cut backs and deeply plunging necklines. When in doubt, opt for simple and classic. Please snap a photo of the dress you’re considering, please note the brand name and style number, and text to Kym Lightholder at 865.567.8900 to ensure that your dress has not already been chosen by someone else. We suggest beginning the process early, as alterations may take longer than you expect. Have fun dress shopping!

Above-the-Elbow White Gloves
Florentinegloves.com (leather, unlined) is an option
Nosegays will be provided for debutantes at the presentation.

DINING & PHOTOGRAPHS

Father-Daughter Dinner
Dad’s dress: coat and tie | Daughter’s dress: cocktail dress

Mother-Daughter Luncheon
Dress: Daytime Dressy

Evening of the Ball
Each debutante is provided a table seating up to ten guests on the night of the presentation. A pri fixed menu will be served and charges incurred at the debutante’s table will be billed to her family’s member account.  Drinks for family and all guests at the ball will be charged to a member’s account. There will NOT be a cash bar.

Underage debutantes and guests will not be served from the bar. Those debutantes and guests 21 years of age and older will receive a bracelet so the bartenders may serve them.

Photographs
Professional photographs will be taken of each debutante, her parents, and escort. Each debutante will receive a number indicating her place in line for the photographer. Numbers will be given out at random prior to the presentation.

MEMBER COMMITMENT
The Club, along with the help of several parent volunteers, enjoys creating this memorable experience for Cherokee debutantes, their families, and friends. Participation is $1,500 per debutante and is billed directly to the member’s family (or other assigned member). The charge appears as two separate items of $750 on the member’s August and December invoices. This fee covers all expenses associated with the event. Members who have dinner at the club the night of the presentation, are responsible for their table’s bill.
